Whilst the big names sell mostly Intel® based computers we build our systems on AMD CPUs. AMD processors have proven time after time that like for like they can be up to 22% faster on applications, for example, running the Microsoft Office suite.

So why have a Server or Network?

Imagine

You have access to more than one computer, then what happens when some documents are on one PC and other documents are on another PC? if these two computers are not connected you either copy onto a USB pen drive or CD lots of moving valuable data and more chance things will go wrong, errors made or valuable data is mislaid whether on disk, storage device or even left on an old system!

Networks allow your computers to link to each other "talk" if you like. when you save a document on computer 1 you can then see this document on computer 2, or not depending on permissions set up. Same for printers share 1 printer between many computers so you could install 1 high quality laser printer for the price of 2 good inkjet's!

Servers - The main stay of the office network. Few people understand or have even seen a server. Servers form the central hub of major networks you can have just one PC and still have a server. Why you you want a server? To give a comprehensive list here would be to hard to do but a few points of interest, if a workstation fails you can move to another one and log in your documents move with you including emails, programs and personal desktop. Back UPs done over night to a variety of devices, Tape drive, remote storage area, Hard disks. We build high quality servers based on the Microsoft Windows 2003 product range A network with out a server is called a WORKGROUP and in a workgroup all computers are equal

With a server installed you can work from home or on the road and dial or connect via a VPN (virtual private network) and new in windows 2003 Remote Web Work Place so you never need be away from your emails or documents again.

Workstations

Standard PCs - Client PCs. these are either used in business connected to a server, workgroup or Home office and with 64 bit systems becoming a reality computing is just about to take a big leap forward. Whilst 32 bit systems will be around for a long time it is our view that all of our systems will be 64 bit by the middle of this year.
